Quality Time with the Kiddos

So my last post was about how I enjoy the time I have had to spend with my family this winter. Yesterday, I spent some of the wish it were me instead time. Poor baby girl. I hope that we can keep the scar from being too bad. She was such a trooper. At one point while she was laying there on the table, she said,"I really bad don't want stitches." I was putting pressure on her cut for the nurse, and I was shaking like mad. Tons of adrenaline! It calmed her down when I asked her if she could feel how badly I was shaking. Somehow, that brightened her day, and she gave me a little smile. Now all she can do is brag about her stitches.

"Wintertime"

So I find myself blessed with time this winter. I have been able to spend a lot of that with my family. What a joy to build such a unique type of friendship with such dear little people. My mother used to tell me that there was no way that I could understand how much she loved me until I had kids of my own. She was so right.

I Love Winter . . .
Well, I do love winter, but the wind the other night was amazing. I thought that I had seen the worst, but I was wrong.
When it was all said and done, we had a drift up the driveway that was 2-4 feet deep, and I could walk on the top of most of it! After all the neighbors chipped in, and paid a skid-steer to come and plow us out ( after a four wheeler, a snowblower, and a Ford F-250 couldn't touch it! ) we now have great tunneling snow piles.
There will be pics of our snow fort soon to come.
Today, I was able to drive up to Lake McDonald and spend some time seeing what I could see.
It was 9 degrees at the Lake. .

Snowin' and a blowin'!
It snowed like crazy yesterday! Towards the evening, it slowed up, and then cleared off so the temperature dropped to -3.1 degrees.
The bison didn't seem to mind, but my truck does.
You may have noticed the plug in.
No, that's not because it is a hybrid (not my old clunker! ) It is an engine plug heater. It works so well, my oil temp indicater heats up before I even start the truck.
